ParadropVR Re-opens at Universe Science Park After COVID-19 Lockdown

AUTHOR: IN: DATE: 30 JUNE 2020

Back in 2018, Universe Science Park became the first venue in the world to launch immersive adventure attraction, ParadropVRTM. In another world-first, the leading visitor attraction in Denmark has become the first location to re-open ParadropVRTM to guests after the global COVID-19 lockdown period.

Stringent safety measures introduced by Universe Science Park have given guests the reassurance and confidence they need to return, with daily visitors increasing steadily since the park re-opened on June 13th. Despite longer lines due to physical distancing measures, guests have been happy to wait to experience the thrills and excitement of ParadropVRTM.

New safety measures introduced for ParadropVRTM include physical distancing in the outdoor queuing area, enhanced cleaning of the VR headset between rides and sanitiser stations requiring guests to clean their hands before entering and exiting the attraction.

Universe Science Park Chief Operating Officer Jonas Luttermann says feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with guests relieved to get back to having fun with their family and friends.

Universe Science Park Chief Operating Officer Jonas Luttermann said:

“We were proud to launch the world-first installation of ParadropVRTM back in spring 2018. We’re equally pleased and proud to be the first venue to have re-opened ParadropVRTM after the COVID-19 lockdown period.

“Limiting the number of people we have in the ParadropVRTM building at any one time means guests now have to queue outside. We weren’t sure how they would react but if anything – this just seems to increase the sense of anticipation and demand.”

“Ensuring our cleaning measures are highly visible on ParadropVRTM and other rides means our guests can escape reality for a while, relax and have fun during their time with us.”

Frontgrid CEO, Matt Wells said:

“Universe Science Park is the first ParadropVRTM location to have re-opened after the COVID lockdown period. We’re thrilled to hear the ride continues to be so well-received by guests, who have been looking forward to some fun and escapism after the stress of the past weeks.”

“Our team has been supporting ParadropVRTM operators as they update their standard operating procedures and put re-opening plans in place. We’re looking forward to more venues welcoming guests when local guidelines permit, and stand ready to support our community with anything they might need.”
